TM MACON' TELEGRAPH: WEDNESDAY MOKNING, OCTOBER 3, 1894.
AFTER BURIED TREASURE.
A Dream Leads, td the Digging ir. the
Yard of a Baltimore House.
Baltimore. Md.. Oct. 2.—All day Sat-
urday and that night two men un
der the direction of a nervous little
wliman, were digging in the yard of the
house 503 Canton avenue. They were
smirching for hidden treaeurcfl sup
posed to have heen secreted there by an
English sea captain, who sailed away
one day half a century ago, leaving hlo
land and affairs in charge of Richard
McDonnell. an old ft lend. The captidn
never returned, and 'McDonnell became
very rich. ,’He died twenty or more
years after his friend had disappeared.
The house under which the hole was
dug Is one bf a number of weather
beaten and time-worn -wooden build
ings, two stories high, which belong to
the McDonnell estate. Three of them
are occupied, but the others have been
abandoned for some time. The persons
engaged li» the digging were Mr. «nd
Mrs. Simon Glassner and John Doyle,
whom the couple engaged to assist
them.
Not having found any treasure at
daylight this morning, Mrs Gleasaer
ordered work to cease until the moon is
full. The woman save that nho under
took the search for the treasure on nr-
cunt of frequent dreams of her daugh
ter. Christine Jordan. The daughter is
20 years old. and Is employed In a
South Btbadwav store. Mrs. Gleesner
nald:
"My daughter has been disturbed for
some time by dreams and visions of the
spirits of her father and a beautiful
lady In white. They both told Chris
tine that burled under the stairs, a few
feet under the ground, to 1503 Canton
avenue. Is a box containing 315.000 in
gold and deeds to all' the property In
the neighborhood. My daughter says
the lady In white ifl-the wife of the
English eea captain who, years ngo,
owned the property now called the Mc
Donnell estate.” ..
•It was nlao.stated by Mrs.- Glessner
that the digging for -the box was aban
doned temporarily -because the spirits
told her daughter the box was only a
> h ,rt instance beneath-the surface, and
ns they had dug. sme distance withut
finding it, the work was abandoned till
the moon was full, according to drecl
tlora given In the dream. The young
woman, who is pretty and'intelligent,
saya that she has -lmd -the' same strange
dream, every week or two for several
years, with -the exception that the ex
act loca-tlbn of the supposed treasuro
was not given until -the last dream.

America Leads the Nations in
the March of Progress.
Among the wonders of the World's Columbian Fair the
grandest was the exhibit of American products. The Ex
hibition was, in this respect, on object lesson of the grandeur
and glory of the Republic. Among the exhibits from tho
United States no article of its class stood so high as
Dr. Price’s Cream Baking Powder.
The Chief Chemist of the Agricultural Department at
Washington, backed by an intelligent jury at the Exposition,
found it strongest in leavening power, peerless in its purity
and beyond comparison in uniform excellence,
Received Highest Award
At the World’s Fair.

The award is a matter of official record.
Nothing could settle so decisively the Immeasureable
superiority of Dr. Price’s over all other powders as the
great honor bestowed at Chicago.
