been hanging fire, made the statement
to a Telegraph reporter last night that
he would announce bis decision st the

A GREAT TASK.
Few understand the magnitude of
the task of creating an-1 collecting a
perfect stock of ready-made Clothing.
It Is so exacting that almost no mer
chants comprehend or an- willing to
truly leant the busbies-. This explains
the almost universal failure to produce
u proper stock at right prices.

Authorities say that we display mora

it is.
Some retailers get lmt little chance
at the fashions of the best makers -
anil have to pay roundly for what the/
secure. The small exhibitions—so
many arc pathetic In their meagroncss.
Today our various slocks would be a'
revelation to any expert who under
stands diversity, multiplicity and rich
ness of variety. The choice styles aro
not concealed.
The great volume of purchase* puts
down prices. Our policy Is entirely
free. No handicap of a costly manu
facturing plant. If .vc had found tho
best way to serve you was to run ear
own shops you'd have seen a mill In
your midst. But that’s not tho best
way. It la vastly better to collect
from everywhere.
