To those ■who know a good thing
when they see it and can thoroughly
appreciate It, the Telegraph would rec
ommend a visit to the store oecup.ed
by Messrs G. G. Toole & Weidman.
Until recently this store lias been oc
cupied by Mr. Toole exclusively, but
an alliance has just been formed with.
Mr. Wadruan by which they are pre
pared to offer the very choicest and
best fresh Western meats to the keep
ers of good tables. Their visible sup
ply yesterday Tncluded blood, tongue,
Vienna and Frankfurter sausages, head
cheese sad all kinds of eboleo Western
meats, hams, breakfast bacon, etc.
This part of the store w.ll Interest and
edify and, as the preachers say, mnko
you live better.
The other part of the store will have
a like wholesome effect. Mr. Toolu
has long led in everything In tho way
of foreign and imported delicacies, and
he enjoys more “swell” trado probably
than any other grocery man in the
city. "Only tho best" is Ids motto, and
he makes it a rule to have more varie
ties and altogether a handsomer stock
than he or any one has ever had be
fore. The liandsouio exhibit of Mr.
Toole at tho Dixie Fair is sure to at
tract attention, and you must tee it
before leaving the exposition grounds.
You should not. however, Imagine you
havo seen all until you visit Messrs.
Toole & Weldman’s store.
CARL BROWNE IN WALL STREET.
He Was Dlcharged by the Tombs Po
lice' Justlcei
New York, Oct. 21.—Carl Browne, the
leader o£ the “hobos” who succeeded
"General” Coxey as commander of the
industrial army, who was arrested on
Saturday bn Wall street, was discharge
ed by Justice Ryan In tho Tombs police
court today. Detective Rogers of the
central office charged Browne wtlth ob
structing Wall street, causing a crowd
,tb ooHect, and refusing to go away
•when so ordered.
'Browne’s followers stood n the steps
while the fate of their leader was being
decided. They were not permitted to
enter the court room, and so missed the
general's oration. He said:
“My companions and myaelf stopped
by Washington’s statue, and were or
dered to move on. We did so. While
on the - way down the street, a messen
ger. whom I had sent to the poetofllce,
overtook me and handed me a letter. I
stopped to read It, and naturally n
crowd collected; they knew who I was,
The officer. Instead of making the crowd
move on. arrested me. I think It la an
outrage.’’
Justice Ryan made no comment, but
wrote "Discharged” on, ithe affidavit
and said: “You may go.”
Browne left the court room, Joined his
army encamped on the steps, and pro
ceeded up town. .... -
