thirty different shows. • These, however,
will make Happy Street one or the larg

Probably the chief attraction will be
the educated mules, buffaloes and horses.

will assume charge of all exhibits, and
will conduct the distribution of prizes
In all of the departments. This work
has been entrusted to the men named
above.
One of tho best agricultural displays
wen at any southern fair In recent
years will be one of the leading fea
tures of the Macon Georgia State Fair.
There will be exhibits from the coun
ties of Bibb, Bartow. Worth. Camden,
Jones, Houston, Baldwin, Spalding and
Crisp, and special exhibits of consid
erable else from each of these coun
ties and from Dooly county. Thera
will also be individual exhibits from
every section of the state. ... .
Tho exhibit of woman's work will bo
the next in line of Importance. Thero
will be displays of cakes, candy, breads,
plea Jellies, preserves, canned frulta.
dried frulta and vegetable*, pickles and
catsups, needle work, sewing machine
and handiwork, embroidery, drawn work,
lace, fancy work, children’s work. In
textiles, horticulture and floriculture,
musical Instruments, and painting.
A splendid exhibit of farming Imple
ments Is anticipated. A special building
has been set apart for the display* of
,incs ucpnriu>^iii. _ .• . ...
The Maoon Pet Stock Association will
have charge of the poultry and dog
show, which Is expected to be one of tho
best ever given In Macon. Practically
the majority of the large number of en
tries have been made by Macon People.
The Indications are that the exhibit
of manufacturers and merchants will bo
one of the largest at the fair. At least
a hundred local entries have been re
ceived. whllo there are a considerable
number of out-of-town Arms competing.
To the disappointment and regret of
the officials of the fair, association,
there will not 1>« a large display of cat
tle. hogs and sheep or other live stock.
This deplorable condition was brought
about by the unavoidable late start se
cured by the fair association, pros
pective exhibitors not having sufficient
time In which to prepare an exhibit.
There will, however, be h fine apiary
Tho machinery exhibit will require oa
much room as all of the other display*
together. The McCormick Harvesting
Machinery Company and scores of ip 111
supplies firms have engaged, apace.
In none of tho building* fa there any
remaining apace, all having been taking
by exhibitors. This Itself Indicates that
there will he an unusual quantity of
displays and la practically & guarantee
of their quality.
