■A Mistaken-
Idea
Perhaps you have an idea that in order to have a
bank account you must have a lnrge sum to deposit;
that a bank doesn’t care to bother with small accounts.
This is not true of the “Fourth.” This bank wel
comes new accounts, no matter how small, and extends.
the same courtesy and service to small depositors as to
large ones.
Let us prove it to you.

with a comparatively narrow range, clos

point* lower. Hairs for the day wera *»
tlmated at 200.000 bales.
The market opened steady at an ad
vance of 11 point* on November. 3 points
on December, and 1 point on January,
but unchanged to 2 points lower on later
month*. There seemed to be a little buy*
Ing of November by belated short* and
December was Influenced by smaller no
tices than expected, only about 2.500
bales, according to estimates.
But January weakened right after the
rail under liquidation by people who
seemed to be buying the later months.
December reacted from 9.27 to f.20, and
th* general list mold about 2 to 7 points
net lower during the first half hour.
There was no actual pressure against
December, however, and the steadiness
of this position, which quickly rallied fol
lowing the early break, together with tht
good demand for the later months from
Wall street and outside sources, Imparted
a generally steadier tone to the market
during the middle of the day. and at one

points higher.
The close was off from the top under
scattered realizing. The member* of the
Liverpool cotton exchange estimate th*
crop at 13.849.000 bales on the average.
Southern commissioners of agriculture
estimate 12.551.000 bales. The New York
cotton exchange announces that It will
Increase Its estimate- of southern mill
faking*, owing to the rapid revival of
trade to 100.000 bales per week during
thr months of December and Janua-y.
Cam m were about ae due. Southern spot
markets were generally unchanged.
Receipts of cotton at the port* today

week nnd 49.295 bales last year. For the
week' (estimated) 425.000 bales against
405,903 bales last week and 2X5.810 bales
last year.
Tunny's receipts at New Orleans were
5.671 hales against 4.074 hales last year,
and at Houston 22,427 bales against 8.657
