The ne^t morning came, and with
the two chickens. As soon u*
Druvver Passmore set his eyes on the
chickens he knew where they cams
from. lie hag seen them scratching
around a certain yard and he had laid
oft to visit that yard some night, and
It so happened that when he did pay
the promised visit there were no chick-
sn*. lie concluded that they had been
eaten up. until Druvver Maddox men
tioned the fact of his being so well
provided for his Christmas dinner, and
then hla suspicions were amused. And
then when the chlrken# were sent to
tils house nnd recognised, he was mad
all over. And thla la why Maddox
and Passmore were before the court
on the charge of fighting.
One of the slstqra who mortally
'splsed both of the preachers, told how

“Once Upon a Time”
But—’twas long, long ago—that ‘‘the lowest prices
got the persimon.” Folks have learned better now, and
especially the Macon folk. As a rule, you get what you
'pay for. If it’s a cheap price, watch out for a cheap,
article. We have preached “Pure Foods’* so long that’
most people now demand them, and we are delighted to
send out only Pure Food Products, and we find it pays
—itpays the consumer to use them and it pays the deal
er to handle them. We never make a loss an good things
. to eat, because every order is a repeater. One good turn
^deserves another, and the trade has been quick to circu
late the good newB of our good tilings. Our stock is
now complete, and we never had such an assortment of
everything good to eat.
