Calhonn pleaded guilty ot burglary and was sen

Tabernacle Association is destined to meet with

one, just eight miles below town by private con
veyaooe, and only a quarter of a mile
from the Savannah, Florida and Western

well as those who may come from Marianna,
Pensacola and other cities Westward.
The committee who had the matter in hand could
not nave selected a more a aitable spot for this an
nual meeting* The tabernacle Is to bo erected on a
bluff, from the aides of which Rush the purest
streams of free stone water whloh ruusoff into
ravines, where the magnolias, cypress, poplar, etc ,
grow in the richest profusion. On the bluff, all

Sam Smith hucg himself last Tuesday night lu

arrested here a few nignts since by 8heriff Patter
son, of this connty, after a desperate resistance.

who responded to his call for Lelp. After being
jailed the ne^>ro commenced to feign madness by
tossing hlr bead from side to side end muttering
between his teeth. It is said ho actually foamed at
the mouth, and played his part so well aa to deceive
the officers until Dr. Morgan was railed.
When the sheriff from Fort Oaines arrived and
told tbe i egm it was unnecessary for him to "take
on so,” that his father wonld pay him out, he im-
mediately discontinued his pretended madness.
George McNabb, the druuken negro who a few
receiving money for it and delivering it the day I
