NOT AT ALL UNEASY.
Dr. Hape Says the Agricultural Society:
Is In No Danger.
Hape, secretary of The Georgia' stato
Agricultural Society. In discussing the af
fairs of the Dixie Interstate Folr today,
said the society was not at all uneasy
over the effort to hold It Jointly respon
sible for the payment of premiums with
the Dixie Fair Company.
"As a matter of fact.” said Dr. Hapo,
'the fair people owe us money just like
they owe It to others. We were in a
sense an employe of the fair company.
Our contract with them was that w*
should be paid 31,750 for taklnr charge of
certain departments. Out of this money
we were to pay the expense of tho super
intendence of five departments. The con
tract called for the payment to us of this
money on tho second day of the fair, but
we didn't get It then, and a week later
suceeded In getting only 31,000. Tho fair
.people atlll owe us the remaining 3750.
In the contract with the society the fair
company expressly screes to pay all pre
miums, so I do not see how any claim
can be made on us for their non-pay
ment."
