i|||* Cotton Crop in Georgia Short. jg?yC ( .immi>»i"n<-r cf Airncul? ure Ki'hoinns G. Hudson is very much W discouraged at tlie outlook for the r«.-tton crop in Georgia, recent dry weather bavins oinyed havoc with the cotton crop throughout the state, causing it to slied con siderably. In addition there lias boon an east wind ail ever the stato. and tlie wind with a very hot sun has done more to injun* cotton than the protracted dry spell has. Mr. Hudson says, there will ' hardly he more than half a cot ton crop in Georgia. I have just returned from a trip through ! fchtnipter and Schley counties and : cotton is in a terrible condition. She dry weather has caused it to shed worse than in many years. We had a very wet spring and cot ton grew off fine. All the growth ! went into a very largo weed, how ever. instead oi' into fruit, and no • it has begun to shod. Georgia will do well if a million bales are j made. The North Georgia papers sav the farmers up there are being skinned by stock inspec tors, who call on the iarmers and claim to be sent out by the gov ernment to inspect stock for con tageons diseases. Alter the in spection they demand $5 for their services, and usually g»t it. JNO.
