supplies
Perhaps you have never given much con=
sideration to their purchase, but think for a minute of the long days
the little ones must &pend in using them, and how muh pleasure and
aatisfaction it means if everything is just like they want it.
Something that does not suit is a keen dis=
appointment, and now' is the time that your children are forming
habits and ideas that will have a great influence on their futures.
/
Failure to equip them with the proper supplies is an actual
handicap.
We have taken all of these features into consideration in buying
■our Bchool supplies, and the children will receive the same prices, if
they come alone, as you do.

Cotton on Tall Trees.
Cotton growing on trees 15 to
30 feet high 1
Sounds like a -‘pipe” story, but
according to a letter received by
the state department of agricul
ture from S. Billow, cf Guatema
la City, Central America, they are
doing that very thingdown there,
and he believes a variety can be
crossed here that will do equally
as well.
An Italian scientist named Dr.
Thomastis has produced a new
variety of cotton, ( called “Cara
Vonica,” by hybridizing two oth
er varieties, one from Mexico, and
the other the tributaries of the
upper Amazon.
According to Mr. Billow the
trees grow 15 to 30 feet higt< and
the bolls 7 inches long and five to
8 inches diameter. The seed are
clear of line, and the yield aver
ages 24 to 8 bales of fine silky lint
to the acre. The ratio of lint in
the “Cara Vonica” is 48 to 02 per j
cent lint to seed cotton. The or- !
dinary varieties here run only |
about 33 1-3 per cent.
Samples of the lint and some
of the seed are on their way here,
and will be turned over to Ento
mologist Worsham for experi
ment. —Georgian.
Mr. Royster believed that success awaited the
Manufacturer of Fertilizers who would place quality
above other considerations. This was Mr. Royster's
idea Twenty-seven years ago and this is his idea
to-day; the result has been that it requires Eight
Factories to supply thedemandfor Royster Fertilizers.
