Miss Ora Graham returned to her home in Mt. Vernon after a weeks visit with relatives here. J. W. Rolison made a business trip to Savannah Tuesday. Dr. J. A. Camp was in Lyons Mon day. J. M. Meadows was attending to business matters in Lyons Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Tyson are visit ing the latters mother, Mrs. C. F. Mc- Collough, of near Lyons. Miss Eunice Jarriel spent the week end in Mt. Vernon the guest of Miss Vera Graham. Miss Bertha Foster visited relatives near Lyons Sunday. Mrs. E. J. Giles visited her daugh ter, Mrs. J. M. Bland attended the Grand Lodge at Macon last week. Mr. Herbert Jones who has been very ill at the Vidalia Hospital is very much improved. Remember Sunday school at the Baptist church every Sunday after noon at three o'clock. Everybody is invited to attend. South Thompson A large crowd attended the Singing Convention at Johnson Corner Sun day. Miss Callie Thompson spent Satur day night with Misses Leola and Flon nie Thompson. Mrs. J. W. Matthews and children stpent Saturday night with the formers brother, Mr. D. W. Anderson. Several from here attended preach ing at Union Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Wheeler and children will leave Friday for Athens where they will make their future home. Rev. Salters preached a very inter esting sermon at Hughes Chapel Sun day night. A good crowd wasi pres ent. Mrs, James Blunt spent Thursday with Mrs. Allen Sharpe. We are sorry to note the Illness of Mrs. Ruth Thompson. Hope she will soon be well again. Judge John L. Miss Lucile New, from Cedar Cross ing, and Miss Era Lane, from Marvin, s,ent the weekend with Miss Addie Lee Hardy. Miss Roby Sutton was in Lyons and 'Vicalia Thursday. Diestejl DeWitt made a business trip to ReidfYille Tuesday. Dess Gray, of Lyons, was attending to business matters here Friday. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Moore and son, Talmadge, of Gleenville, were in our midst Monday and Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Duraen spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Par tin. Dr. T. C. Thompson and mother and Elizabeth Thompson, of Vidalia, at tendee' the funeral of John Burns, Tuesday of last week. Sharpes Chapel News Rev. Theo Pharr filled his regular apopintment here Sunday. There will be a pie and cake sup per here Friday night, November 17th. The proceeds will go for the purpose of putting lights in the church. All the ladies are invited to come and bring cakes or piesv or both, and the men and boys are invited to come pre pared to buy. Miss Ollie Bell Williams, of Mid land, is visiting her uncle, Mr. Willie Sauls, this week. Our school opened Monday. We are sorry to note the illness of ■Mrs. Sarah Rowland.
