More than twenty tugs In New York harbor went to the aid of the great Leviathan when a strong ebb
tide threw the “Queen of the Seas” Into a mud bank. With all of their puffing and tugging the big boat could
not be freed until evening when the lifted her. Now the Ik S. Shipping Board announces the
Leviathan will be laid.up until March undergoing repairs to reversing turbines which were the cause of the
- mishap.

THEIR NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY
On Thursday night January the
3rd. Misses Littie Powell and Mae
Pittman entertained a host of friends
by giving a birthday supper and don
key party.
At eight o’clock supper was serv
ed and games were played and lots
of fun was carried on.
After the games were all played
the donkey was pinned on a white
cloth and their friends were blind
folded and turned around three
times and walked up to the donkey
and pinned tails on him.
Miss Lizzie Harden and Mr. Bill
Williamson won the prizes of the
game.
