Last evening Capt,. Alcorn of
the Union Lumper Co. near Haw-
kinsville, passed through here
with 15 men, 42 mules and 11
wagons and carts, en route to Tif-
ton lo work on the now railroad
to bo built from Tifton to Tliom-
asvillo. *

On Friday last Dr. Gardner
performed a surgical operation
upon Ben Canty, removing from
the outside of his right hand a
