sworn April term, 1899, Worth
Superior Court, hog leave to sub¬
mit the foliowing as our general
presentments.

term, 1898, to investigate or ex
amine the county court dockets
and financial doings of the county
court, find the books kept in ac-
( ordance with the law, as we nn-
<i( rstand it ; with the exception
that tho Solicitor has not kept a
record of the finances spread’ up¬
on the minutes of the court.
From the summing np of the
amounts paid out and amounts

about paid expenses during this
year, but find for last year that it

er's books.
We recommend that the actings
and doings of the Solicitor and

ho the minutes of

a soon thereafter as practicable

We have examined the doings
oi ilie board of registrars and find

beat of our knowledge. We find

port, for the defaulters shown by
registrar’ docket of those parties

We also find that Ordinary

We also find a great many names
who have registered and have not
a yet, paid taxes as shown by li-
las held against them.,
We find the wild land digest

We, the committee appointed
by the Grand Jury to examine
the convict camp of 11. 15. Pritch¬
ett A Co., have made a thorough
inspection and investigation ns to
th" sanitary condition, treatment
and management of the convicts
confined in said camp and beg to
report that we lind tho camp in

further to report that so far as
have been abb* to learn there
been no violation of the laws of

number of convicts in this camp
is 57.
We find the camp of Empire
Lumber Co., at Worth, Ga., su-
perinteuded by J. ii. Smith, con-
victs in good condition with the
exception of two sick and one
wounded by a falling tree, one
leg and one arm broken. We find
the convicts well cared for with
neceseary clothing and provision,

We find W. P. Gary, superin¬
tendent of the camp of Cauda
Lumber Co., at Worth, with five
men complaining of being too
sick to work, all well cared for
w ith clothing and provision, To-
tul number of convicts at this
camp 80. They are making new
arrangements to meet the new
lease law.

lord camp in healthy^ condition
W'ith sufficient clothing, bedding
and provision. Total number at

spectfully submit the following
report:
We find that the N. I\ and ex-
officio J. P.’s books of the 2nd
district not corresctly kept as
there is no entry made of Consta-
ble where it should show amount
of cost due ? which in some cases,
it does not. We find the J. P.’s
hooks of the second district neat
and correctly kept. WeJind the
books of the 3rd district noutar.d
correctly kept except two cases
on the criminal docket that are
marked settled, and in some eas-

the-constable did not make any
entry and the J. P. failed to enter

failing to turn over his books to

Leaves a balance of $1,4S9 98 still
in Tieasurer’s hands.
We have examined the books of
the county court and find them
neat and correctly kept, and find
that there has been 63 cases in
said inminal court of which 15
was convicted, 12 not guilty 4 nol
prossed on payment of cost, 1 bond
