VOL a 0 ] lorrjc Circle j|j * ftastEtKCK *SO £3>:£»:© A mother's heart, like prim roses, opens most beautifully in the evening of life. Many children develop into gloomy morbid, hitter men and women for lack of a happy child hood. If instead of a gem or even a flower, we would east the gift of a happy thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. When you find a home where nil have learned the important lessons of helping one another, there you wilh fine the perfection of true home happiness. When rolling years shall cease to move, when the days of all men , have been numbered, aud when the earth shall have wandered ( away through space and been lost, , mother love will still live on as undying as the throne of God. A cheerful atmosphere is ini- 1 portailt to happy home life. It 1 is hard for children to be good when they are exposed to an in cessant hail storm of fault-finding from their parents. It is very difficult fora wife to maintain d a calm and charmingly sweet de- 1 meaner when her husband is erit- 1 seal or sullen and takes all her tender efforts with indifferent up- 1 preciation. Wo would say keep all know-, ledge of evil possible out of a; 1 chi Ids life. Ignorance of this is the charm of childhood and youth, and its joyfulness. Show’ 1 them tke right side of all that comes to their knowledge. lie cause evil knowledge will come sooner or later is no reason for hastening it. Do not blast the, bud for fear the blossom will be 1 marred, or mar the blossoms for fear the fruit will he worm eaten Frosts cani.ot do as much harm after the fruit basset as while j the budsand blossoms are growing. Be what you wish your children to he and keep them unconscious, innocent and sunshiny. The road along which the man of busines travels in pursi it of competence or wealth is not a Macadamized one, nor docs it ordinarily lead through pleasant scenes and by well-springs of de light. On the fontrnry it i= n rough path, beset tyith “wait-a bit” thorns and full of pit-falls, which can only be avoided by the watchful care of circumspection. After every day’s journey over this worse than rough turnpike road, the way farer needs some thing more than rest: lie requires solace and be deserves it He is weary of the dull prose of life and athirst for the poetry. Happy is the business man who can find that solace and that poetry at home. Warm greeting from lov ing hearts, fond glances from bright eves the welcome shouts of children, the many thousands littlw arrangements for our coin fort and enjoyment that silently t.-ll of thoughtful and expectant love, the gentle ministration that disencumber us into an old and easy »* at i '' l ’■ 11 11 io\ a these and like tokens of affection and sympathy constitute the poe try which reconciles us to the prose of life. Think of this, y» wives and daughters of busiiu— men! Think of the toils, the anxieties, the worries and wear that fathers undergo to secure for von tortablo homes, and com pensate them for their trials by making them happy by their fire side-. I .
