VISITORS HERE.
Vidalia’s Fourth of July celebration
attracted a large number of visitors
to the city M° n- day, and the holiday
crowds were entertained with a de

hour. Several thousand peoplq were
present and the day passed without
any accident marring the holiday and
the best of order prevailed.
Although handicapped by the ne
cessity o& having to start cooking the
barbecue Sunday afternoon, and the
heavy rain? Sunday night making it
impossible to cook all the .meat that
had been furnished, an appetizing
barbecue was 'served at the noon
hour. Tables were prepared for
serving the barbecue under the beau
tiful trees on Jackson street and it
was estimated that fully three thou-,
sand people were served.

and Twelfth District Singing Con

cently erected by the Vidalia Ice &

enjoy’ a swum in this modern nata

The business men who planned the
day’s celebration secured the Witt
Band from Baxley and the numbers
rendered by the band during she day
added much to the occasion .<
The day’s program ended with the
base ball game between the Vidalia
and Statesboro teams, the locals win
ning the game by a score of 6 to 2.
The morning game was played at
Statesboro and the Vidalia team lost
by a score of 12 to 4, and a large

When Buying Hardware
Cultivate a habit of econ
omy, but not stinginess. You know
that below a certain price it is im- i
possible to manufacture
GOOD HARDWARE

of any kind. When you have an
article offered for less than we ask
for it, it is inferior. We do not
handle shoddy" stuff, but our prices
will compare favorably with those
of any other.
