Despair Lurks In Weak Blood
GUDE*S PETTO - MAIfGGAN, THE
BLOOD-BUILDER, AROUSE#
DULL FACULTTEB
Many a man and many a woman
feels all out of sorts from thin, weak
ened blood. The least little thing
gone wrong throws them into a mild
form of despondency. Instead of
bracing up and meeting ordinary dif
ficulties, they are downed. Nerves
are on edge. Appetite lags. Sleep is
restless. They are weak and tired
and dull. Poor blood works its hav
oc till the will lises its poyrer. Fdw
people who fall into habits of -worry
and despondency realize that most of
their troubles are due to lack of en
durance—to blood that has become
weakened by overwork or straining.'
Healthy men and women with rich,
red blood see things brightly. They ;
tackle life with zest and go along sirdl
ingly, full of eagerness and endur
ance.
Gude’s Pepto-Mangan taken steadi
ly restores the blood to its natural
richness. It actually makes red cor-1
pusclea, the tiny particles in blood j
which make it red. Druggists have
Glide’s Pepto-Mangan in liquid and
tablet form. Adv.
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL
TO STUDY BOLL WEKVILL
WASHINGTON. The establish
ment of a small field"station for baHl
weevil investigations by the Depart- 1
ment of Agricultural, at Eatonton,
Ga., through the efforts of Senator
William J. Harris, will mean much
to the cotton planters of Georgia,
the belief here of officials who have
kept in touch with such ivestiga
tions.
Experts recently made an investi
gation of Putman and neighboring
counties following reports of cit
izens to Senator Harris. As a re
sult of the reports of the investiga
tors the department has decided to
place a field station at Eatonton next
year.
The general field work is now
done by the department’s experts at
Tullulah, La., and it was one of their
agents who wentto Georgia recently.
The department states that special
conditions exist in various parts of
the cotton belt which make ft neccos
sary to change the plan of campaign
in fighting the boll weevil in many
instances . The station as planned
for Eatonton, is to study Georgia with
a view to designing the special things
needed from the state.
An increase in the appropriation

METHODISTS WIND UP
CONFERENCE YEAR’S WORK
Sunday marked the close of the
conference year for local Methodists,
and Rev. W. M. Blitch, the pastor,
left Monday morning for Tifton to
attend the annual South Georgia con
ference, which opened its session on
Tuesday. The report to be made to
the conference by Mr. Blitch will
show a clean financial slate, the con
gregation here having paid all as
sessments in full.
At the last meeting of the board of
stewards a resolution was unanimous
ly voted asking for the return of Mr-
Blitch another year, and the entire
membership hopes for his return, but
it is feared that Bishop Candler may
promote him to a larger field of
service.

BIG HUT SHIPKEHT
Major W. R. Gignilliat, the postmas
ter, received a letter today from Dr.
Dan S. Clanton of Hagan thanking l
him for some very efficient service
in connection with the shipment of
pecans from Hagan by parcel post.
Friday night Dr. Clanton received
an order by wire for the shipment
1,500 pounds of pecans by parcel post,
i They were to go to Seaborn, Mich.
The doctor wished to send them |>y
mail and as quickly as posible. There
were thirty bags of nuts, weighing
I fifty pounds each, and it was neces
sary to have stamps of large denomi
nation to make the shipment. The
Hagan postoffice was not supplied
with them. So the Savannah post
master was appealed to send the
stamps. He did so and thes hipment
went off promptly the stamp bill alone
being $93.60. This is believed to be a
record shipment of nuts by mail in
this vicinity. It could not have bee*
made except for the co-operation of
the Savannah office. —Savannah Press
