WANTS CHICKEN SALE AT
VIDALIA IN SEPTEMBER
C. G. Garner, county demonstrator
for Toombs county, was so well pleas
ed with the co-operative chicken sale
held in Vi-dalia last week that he hopes
another sale can be arranged for a
date some time in September, when
he believes it be possible to se
cure at least 10,000 pounds.
About 7,500 pounds w r ere brought
( to the sale at Vidalia, but owing to
the failure to secure a poultry car,
, many carried their chickens home and;
! others sold to local dealers. With a]
1 car on the ground in September and
farmers assured of the high price,
which* can be secured for poultry in
carload lots, Mr. Garner believes it
! will be possible to market at least
i 10.000 pounds-
