MAKING PLANS FOR OPENING
HAZLEHURST WAREHOUSE
Mr. J. W. Warren of Durham, N.
C., who w'il! manage the tobacco
warehouse at Hazlehurst this season,
accompanied by his auctioneer, Mr.
R- G. Thompson, was in the city
Monday en route to Hazlehurst. Mr.
Warren announces that he had hoped
to open the warehouse next week,
but that there is probability that it
will not be open until August 2nd.
Mr. Warren had hoped to open the
Vidalia warehouse for part time, but
owing to the small tobacco crop in
this section this year, this was not
considered advisable.

REVIVAL AT NORMANTOWN
CHURCH NEXT WEEK
Beginning Sunday, July 16th, there
will be services twice daily at the
Normantown Baptist church, 11:00 in
the morning and 8:00 at night. A
hearty welcome is extended to all.
Rev. H. H. Humphreys will assist the
pastor, Rev. C. E. McDanfel in the
preaching. It is hoped to have a glo
rious meeting and that a great good
may he accomplished in the commu
nity.
VIDALIA CITIZEN HURT
IN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT
Mr. Woodward of Vidalia, while
driving into Mcßae from Scotland,
hit a telephone pole yesterday after
noon at the lower end of Scotland
street. He claims that he saw a lady
in the road and was trying to avoid
striking her when the accident hap
pened, but eye witnesses state that he
was mistaken, as there was no one
in his way- Doctors Kennon and
Bradfield were called to the injured
man, who found him oply badly shaken
up and no serious damage done. His
car was not damaged seriously, and
after spending the night here he pro
ceeded on his way.—Telfair Enter

MEADOWS-COLLIER.
The marriage of Miss Julia Mead
ows and Mr. Eric Collier of Ocala,
Fla., was solemnized on Friday morn
ing at 7:30 o’clock at the home of
the bride’s brother, Mr. John Lee
Meadows, on Jackson street, Vidalia,
in the presence of the family and a
few interested friends. The parlors
were decorated with smitax and dai
sies. Preceding the entrance of the
bridal party, Miss Azilee Austin of
Cross Hill, S. C., sang “At Dawn
ing,” accompanied by Mrs. Ethel B.
Giles. To the strains of Mendels
sohn’s Wedding March came the only
attendants, Miss Mae Meadows with
Mr. John Lee Meadows, sister and
brother of the bride, immediately
followed by the bridal pair.
The brunette beauty of the bride
was enhanced by the lovely gown of
midnight blue Canton crepe, relieved
by the pink gladioli of the bouquet-
The impressive ring ceremony was
performed by Rev'. J. T. B. Ander
son of the Vidalia Raptist church.
Mr. and Mrs. Collier left at once
for a trip to Hot Springs, after which
they will be at home in Ocala, Fla.
The bride is one of Vidalia’s love
liest characters, and Mr. Collier one
of Ocala’s most promising young men.
