Is trying to walk in his father’s footsteps. You
want him to be honest, truthful and fair. Where
can he learn these virtues better than in the home

Many a youth has asked himself this question.

COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER
WATER POWER BILLS
The senate committee on constitu
tional amendments will consider the
Water Power Bills, advocated by the
Municipal League of Georgia, Thurs
day afternoon, July 20, at 3 o’clock.
In urging the bills be passed the
League is pointing out that the bills
create no new offices or commissions,
and impose no debt or tax upon the
state, or upon any of her towns or
counties. The bills, if passed, would
only permit the people of Georgia to
go to the polls in November and vote
for or against amendments to the Con
stitution which would make it possible
to enact laws and ordinances in Geor
gia like those in force in other states,
where they have produced such won
derful power development.
United States Census Bureau report:
show that only New Mexico and Mis
sissippi are as poorly served as Geor
gia in the distribution of electricity
more than 2,000,000 Georgians living
where it is impossible to get electric-
The League’s membership is com
posed of 110 leading towns and cities
of the state, with a population of 687,-
718. It has hundreds of associate
members who live in various sections
of the state. The president of the
League is Gordon Saussy of Savannah.
: Us vice-presidents are Archibald
i Blackshear, city attorney of Augusta,
> James L. Key, mayor of Atlanta, R.
W. Parker, mayor of Madison, J. E.
( Sheppard, mayor of Americus, J. M-
Smith, mayor of Augusta, and Luther
’ Williams, mayor of Macon. These
officers were elected at the last annual
’ meeting, which was held recently in
Atlanta.
