A Popular-Priced Cord Tire 1
I Without a Rival 1
| The new Goodyear Cross-Rib Tread Cord Tire is built with
| genuine high-grade long-staple cotton as a foundation.
; It is liberally oversize the 4 1 /2'i nc h L tire, for example,
I measuring nearly 5 inches.
| The deep, clean-cut, cog-like pattern of its tread affords
1 excellent traction even in snow and mud, engaging the road
like a cogwheel.
* The scientific distribution of rubber in this tread—the wide
* center rib and the semi-flat contour —gives a thick, broad
§ surface that is exceedingly slow to wear.
5 This new tire is a genuine Goodyear through and through
p —in design, in material, in construction.
1 It costs less to buy than the net price you are asked to pay for
I many “long discount” tires of unknown reputation and value.
| Why be satisfied with less than this efficient tire can give—
-1 why take a chance on an unknown make?

HON. A. O. BLALOCK PAYS
VISIT TO THIS SECTION
Hon. A. 0. Blalock, of Fayette
ville, candidate for commissioner of
agriculture, addressed a company of
Montgomery county citizens at the
court house in Mt. Vernon Monday
evening. Mr. Blalock, while one of
the best known men in Georgia, is
well remembered as collector of in
ternal revenue, with offices in Atlanta,
during the Wilson administration, a
period of eight years. Before this
service he had served in the general
assembly for a number of years.
He is a business man of broad ex
prience and owns and operates con
siderable agricultural interests, as a
result of which he claims qualifica
tions which fit him for the position
he is so ardently seeking. After re
hearsing his business connections and
experience in the business and profes
sional world, Mr. Blalock proceeded
in a systematic manner to arraign
his opponent, Commissioner J. J.
Brown, and pointed out a dozen or
more existing irregularities in the ad
ministration of the agricultural de
partment under Mr. Brown, basing
most of his charges on facts of re
cord. He referred to the Brown ad
ministration as one of extravagance
and irregularity, citing a number of
instances in which Mr. Brown had
overstepped the boutvds of propriety.
Prominently among Mr. Blalocks
claims for himself, should he he elect
ed, is an economical administration, by
which the State of Georgia in this
department alone would save at least
$200,000 per year.
Tuesday Mr. Blalock addressed the
citizens of Wheeler county at Glen
wood and other points in that county.
