Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mathews of
Jacksonville announce the birth last
week of a son, who has been chris
tened William Hugh.
Ralph Thompson is convalescing af
ter a severe attack of flu. Mr. J. E.
Thompson is also confined to his
home, suffering with flu.
Dr. and Mrs. Hugh F. J. Arundel
announce the birth on Tuesday, No
vember 9th, of a daughter, who has

Mr. Tom Smith is serving tempora
rily as book-keeper at the First Na
tnoial Bank, filling the place of Hal
Macon, who has been ill for several
days. #
Mr. and Mrs. A. Rushing have
rented the J. W. Dale residence on
Church street and expect ‘o move to
their new home the first of the com
ing month.
Mr. J. B. Todd was able to re
sume his duties as rural letter car
rier this week, after being "absent
fr6m his post for several days on ac
count of illness.

Mr. J. W. Dale left Saturday tor
Thomasville, where he will have charge
of the Rountree Grocery Co. at that
place. Mrs. Dale plans to join him
there on the first of the month.
Mr. Q. B. Page is having the pleas
ure this week of a visit from his aged
mother, Mrs. Nancy Griffin, of Nn
nez. Mrs. Griffin has reached the
of 102 and is wonderfully
preserved for her age.
The Way Motor Co. has secured
the services of Mr. H. P. Morrison
of Savannah to have charge of their
service department. Mr. H. W. Will
hanks has also accepted a position
with the company.
Mrs. T. G. Macon returned the
first of the week from Charlotte, N.
C., where she went some ten days
ago to be at the bedside of her son,
Will Macon, who was ill with pneu
monia. Mr. Macon is convalescing
rapidly and was able to return home
with his mother.
