o'clock, A. M., June 15, 1927, for
the erection of two new buildings
and alterations of the present school.
Separate bids will be received for
plumbing and heating.
Proposals to be accompanied by a
certified check of $1,500.00.
All certified checks to made paya
ble to Geo. S. Rountree, Chairman,
and are deposited as a guarantee that
the contractor to whom the work is
awarded will sign agreement and ex
ecute bond. Should the contractor
fail to enter contract and execute
bond, said check will be forfeited to
the School Board as liquidated dam
ages.

In view of the condition of the
present Registration Book, we have
thought best to put in a new one.
Therefore, by authority of the Char
ter of the City of Vidalia, we hereby
declare the present Registration
Book VOID, and have installed a new
system of registration in accordance
with the charter. With this new sys
tem each and every person WILL BE
required to appear IN PERSON at
the office of the City Clerk of Vida
lia and fill out an information blank
turning same over to the Clerk who
will register such person. It is to be
distinctly understood that there is
| now NO QUALIFIED LIST, and un
less those who would participate in
coming elections call and register,
such persons WILL NOT APPEAR on
the list of QUALIFIED VOTERS.
We urge and trust that every citi
zen will call and execute one of these

North Thompson News
Mr. Ernest Brantley spent Satur
day night with his siste, Mrs. Fred
Frost.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Mosley dined
at the home of Mrs. Freeman Frost
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frost were call
ed away Sunday to see Mrs. Frost’s
mother, Mrs. Brantley, who was ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kelley dined
at the home of Mr. O. G. Kelley Sun
day.
Mr. Ernest Thompson was a visitor
to our Sunday school Sunday P. M.
Rev. N. C. Harrison willl fill his
regular appointment at the church
Saturday and Sunday.
Our Sunday school will be held at
10:00 o’clock A. M. next Sunday.
Rev. N. C. Harrison will preach at
the home of Mr. Dennis Mosley Satur
day night. Everybody is cordially

has closed a contract with Frank
Simons, of Tarrytown, for the erect

road Avenue, and work is to begin

meeting next Monday morning at 10

SECOND LIBERTY LOAN BONDS
EXCHANGE OFFERING OF NEW
TREASURY BONDS
Notice is given of a new offering of
UNITED STATES TREASURY BONDS,
dated June 15, 1927, and bearing interest
from that date at the rate of 3% per
cent. The bonds will mature in twenty
years, but may be called for redemption
after sixteen years.
Second Liberty Loan bonds will be ac
cepted in exchange at par. Accrued in
terest on the Second Liberty bonds of
fered for exchange will be paid as of
June 15. 1927.
Second Liberty Loan bonds have been
called for payment on November 15, 1927.
and will cease to bear interest on that
date. Holders of such bonds who desire
to take advantage of the exchange offer
should consult their bank or trust com
pany at once. The exchange privilege
will be available for a limited period only,
and may expire about June 15th.
Further information may be obtained
from banks or trust companies, or from
any Federal Reserve Bank.
