Hold Commencement
Exercise Friday Night
The Georgia Normal College holds
its Commencement beginning Friday
night, June 4th.
A Music and Expression recital
, will be given in the college auditor
ium Friday night, May 27th at 8:30
! o’clock.
On Sunday morning, June sth, Dr.
J. C. C. Brooks, pastor of the First
Methodist Church of Dublin, Georgia,
will deliver the Commencement Ser
mon. Dr. Brooks is one of the lead
ing Methodist ministers of southeast
Georgia and the school is fortunate
’in securing his services on this oc
casion.
Monday afternoon the Alumi of
the college will hold a meeting. The
| Annual Banquet will not be held this
year, but a good time is expected by
all who attend.

I Monday evening at 8:30 o’clock
the graduation exercises will take
place in the college auditorium. Dr.
Gordon G. Singleton of the State De
partment of Education, Atlanta,
Georgia, will deliver the Literary Ad
dress. Dr. Singleton is one of the
outstanding educators of the State,
having received his Ph. D. some year
or so ago from Columbia University
of New York City. He is mostly fa
miliar with educational conditions of
the State and his address will be both
1 interesting and informational.
President Wells reports this has
been the most successful year in the
history of the college. There are
fifty-one receiving their diplomas or
j certificates at this Commencement.
This is the largest class in the history
!of the institution. The enrollment
has grown from one hundred twenty
nine to two hundred twenty-six. All
of the dormitories have been filled

Applications for the Summer
School have already run near the^-
three hundred mark. A large num
ber of the students are having to. be
placed in private homes in the city.
The school is making arrangements
for the largest attendance in the his
tory of the institution.
