SALE OF LAND UNDER POWER
GEORGIA—Toombs County.
Whereas, on the 7th day of April,
1924, David W. New executed and de
livered to The Georgia Loan & Trust
Company, his deed, under Section
“3306 of the 1910” Code of Georgia,
to the lands hereinafter described,
i for the purpose of securing a debt re
j ferred to in said deed, which deed is
recorded in the Clerk’s office of
Toombs Superior Court in Book 13 of
deeds, page 36.
And whereas, in said deed, said
grantor gave to said grantee and as
signs the power to sell said lands in
case of default in the prompt payment
|at maturity, of interest or principal
of said debt.
Now, therefore, by virtue of the
power so vested in the undersigned,
which is more accurately shown by
to said deed, the undersign
led will sell at public outcry to the
■ highest bidder, for cash, an the 6th
'day of August, 1927, during the legal
'hours of sale before Toombs County
Court House door at Lyons, Georgia,
the lands described in the aforesaid
deed, to-wit:
All that lot or parcel of land, with
improvements thereon, lying and be
ing in the City of Vidalia, 51 st G. M.
District of Toombs County, Georgia,
located on the northeast corner of
Duraen and First streets and front
ing on Durden Street a distance of
one hundred and five (105) feet and
extending back at right angles with
said street a distance of two hundred
and ten (210) feet and bounded as
follows:
On the north by lands of Mrs. D.
Riddle; east by land of Mrs. Caroline
Mosley; south by First street, and on
the west by Durden street, and be
the residence lot whereon said David
W. New resided.
The said deed first above mention
ed, was executed and delivered to se
: cure the payment of his certain
j promissory note for the sum of
! SIOOO.OO dated April 7, 1927 and
i the principal debt, bearing interest
jat the rate of seven per cent, per
! anfium.
Said principal debt is now past due
by the terms thereof, and remains un
paid, so declared to be due for de
foulat in payment of interest due
April Ist, 1927. The total amount
of principal and interest that will be
due on said debt in the date of sale
is $1074.21. Fee simple titles will be
made to the purchaser at said sale
and the proceeds of such sale will be
applied first, to the payment of the
said debt with snterest and expenses
of this proceeding, and the remainder,
if any, will be paid over to said David
W. New or his representative.

the answering jacks, are the multi
ple jacks, one for each of the sub
scriber’s lines in that particular
central office system. Each one of
these jacks is the door to a sub
scriber's nne. When one of the
tiny lamps on the switchboard
glows, the operator plugs into the
answering Jack with one of a pair
of flexible cords and, when given
the number wanted by the calling
subscriber, touches the rim of the
subscriber’s multiple jack with the
tip of the other cord. If she hears a
clicking sound she knows that the
line is busy and so reports to the
calling subscriber.
