JAIL BUILDING FOR SALE
j
We are authorized to say that!
on the first Tuesday in October,! \
nex t, the county commissioners
of Screven county will offer for
sa ] e to the highest'bidder for
cash, tM brick jail building on
East. Ogeecbee Street, together
with whole lot upon which the |
same is situated. This lot fronts |
about 100 feet on.East Ogeechee
street and runs back about one
j hundred and fifty feet. The
commissioners will reserve the
i | right to reject any and all bids,
if in their opinion the, bids offer
| e( ] a re not satisfactory.
The news of this move on the
part of the county authorities,
w qi uo doubt, be well received
as t* it hw lias bean' Dean nroven proven well wen ni°h ui^ti
impossible to keep the jail in a
NO. 8.
cleanly condition where it is.
The idea is to sell the jail build
big, and whoever buys it can
easily convert it into a nice two
story dwelling, by making some
little changes and additions, and
then the commissioners can select
some place where the drainage is
good, and build another modern
j -oil that can be kept, clean. ^
