fragrance of flowers makes our
hearts light and cheerful, and re
minds us that Easter will soon be
here.
Misses Pauline Smith and Ilessie
Newton, of Statesboro, visited their
parents here Sunday.
Mr. Mark S. Joyner, of Oliver, an
energetic employe of Mr. George
Gross, attended services at Middle
Ground Sunday.
Miss Pauline Connor visited
Halcyondale for a short while Sun
day.
Mr. Bob Hunter attended song
services Sunday in the community of
Newington.
Miss Minnie Scott, and brother,
Mr. John H., attended a birthday
party Friday evening at the home of
Mr. John Pryor, in the neighbor
hood of Blue Springs. There was
quite a large attendance, and the
occasion was much enjoyed by those
present.
Miss Anna Connor, who has been
visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Julia
Howell, returned home Sunday.
Mrs. Tarver, wife of Dr. Tarver,
of Guyton, was on a visit to her
father, Dr. A. B. Lanier, of this
place, Sunday.
The friends and acquaintances of
Miss Jennie Davis, of Savannah,
will be glad to learn that she was
married on the fourth of March to
Mr. Graves, a well-to-do young man,
of Walterboro, S. C.

Dr. J. A. Camp and father,

Thursday morning the solemn
sentence of “examination” was
passed on the pupils of the seventh
grade, as it had been so ordered by
State School Commissioner, W. B.
Merritt.
There will be an oyster supper
at the school house, Friday night,
Apr. 6, for the purpose of raising
funds for the music room. Old
maids and young ladies will be for
sale and the bachelors will be ex
