A Crazy Mule.

Talbott on’s Big Blaze.
On Wednes.lay niglit last, at ab >ut t n
o'clock, the alarm ot lire was sounded
on our streets- Quickly large crowds
gathered at the scene, which was located
in a range of store houses on the west
side ot tho public square. The exact
origin of the fire is not known, but it is
supposed to have started m a pile of rag
stock in the tin shop of Messrs. McLen
don & I’richt t, either from spontaneous
combustion or from tho igniting of a
match by some stray rat. Be this ns it
may. the flames rapidly spread until they
eotup issod the entire building, quickly
communicating to the adjacent buildings.
