Tho nomiuee for Congress for

in Congress was again referred to,
for the reason it had been altaekod
Iby Judge Pou. His vote on that
question is entirely satisfactory to
tho people,who believe Judge Hue

The Judge is quite a forc.ble and

Till'. ADDRESS,
On Friday last, at Fair Grounds, of
Judge Joseph Pou, was listened to by
a good audience The speaker re
ferred historically to Mahoneism in
Virginia, and took the position that
Mahone, when elected to the U. S.
Senate, was not an independent, but
a “re-adjuster” democrat, While this
is true as regards to political names,
the facts show that Mahone, under the
guise of a re adjuster democrat, push
ed his independent politics with such
v : gor as to lapd him in the Senate and
on the organization of that body two
yeaisag < squat'* into the radical camp.
He alo referred to the split between
the democrats over a question of debt
in Tennessee, This case has no rele
vancy to the real question of indepen
dentism, and should not be confound
ed with the simon pure opposition, on
the part of some aspirants for political
honors, to the methods of the organ
ized democrary.
The speaker, also, referred to Judge
liuchann-m’s vote on the “River and
Harbor bill,” and argued at some
length on this question. The speech
was well delivered, but the Judge
seemed to be more on the Defensive
than on the aggressive.

TRUTHS
The blood is the foundation of
life, it circulates through every part
of the body, and unless it is pure
and rich, good health is impossible.
If disease has entered the system
the only sure and quick way to drive
it out is to purify and enrich the
blood.
These simple facts are well
known, and the highest medical
authorities agree that nothing but
iron will restore the blood to its
natural condition; and also that
all the iron preparations hitherto
made blacken the teeth, cause head
ache, and arc otherwise injurious.
Brown’s Iron Bitters will thor
oughly and quickly assimilate with
the blood, purifying and strengthen
ing it, and thus drive disease from
any part of the system, and it will
not blacken the teeth, cause head
ache or constipation, and is posi
tively not injurious.

Gents:—Upon the recommenda
tion of a friend 1 tried Brown’#
Iron Bittbhs as a tonic and re
storative for my daughter, whom
1 was thoroughly convinced was
wasting away with Consumption.
Having lost three daughters by the
terrible disease, under the care of
eminent physicians, 1 was loth to
believe that anything could arrest
the progress of the disease, but, to
my great surprise, before my daugh
ter had taken one bottle of Brown’s
Iron Bitters, she began to mend
and now Is quite restored to former
health. A fifth daughter began to
■how signs of Consumption, and
when the physician was consulted
he quickly said “Tonics were re
quired and when informed that
the elder sister was taking Brown’s
Iron Bitters, responded “that is
E good tonic, take it.”
