Atlanta ConUUutwn: Three Geo»-
gia ladies, with a PhiladelphiaJpjly
who has lived in Europe for manjy
years, are gojug to leave for a yearns
trip in England and on tbe continent.
They tabs' tor their expenses $900 for
the year, inclnding passage. The
four, living together in apartments in
London, Paris or Borne, can do well
on $25 a month each, and by travel
ing second-class can"go almost any
where. Of oourse they will avoid big
hotels, and they will be all the better
for it. Mr. Fulton, of tbe Baltimore
American, has just returned with a
party from a three-mouths’ tour iu
Europe, and tbe expense of each per
son was $5.75 per day. As they wero
traveling about constantly, their ex
penses were much heavier than if they
hail rested for some time atone place.
There are two editors on this paper
who intend to spend three months of
next summer in rural England on a
totnl expense of $5 each.
A good likeness. An Austrian man
started iu the livery stable business,
last week, and the first thing he did
was to have a big sign painted, rep
resenting bimself bolding a mule by
tbo bridle. “Is it a good likeness of
me ?” be asked of a friend. “Yes, it
is a perfect picture of yon, but wbo is
tbe fellow holding you by the bridle?”

“Tbe illuminated buoy is a wonder
ful inveptiou,” read old Mrs. Pina-
phor in her daily paper. “Well,” she
observed, "I should think he was.
And it’s an excellent idea, too, for if
tbe boy is illuminated bis mother will
Lave less trouble finding him after
dark.”
In the Italian parliament the vot-
iug is done by electricity. Three
buttons marked aye, no, and abstain,
are connected witn a central printing
apparatus, which records the votes
automatically as the members touch
the buttons.
