If tbe plun suggested is thought too
costly, some modifications may be
made with a view to reducing tbe
expense. But in some form such a
room ought to be opened, and it will
repay our business men and real es
tate owners for tho small outlay re
quired. It might, for instauco, be
thought best to dispense with
a jauitor aud have keys accessi

only members of the board and such
guests ns might be invited by mem
bers of the board to have access to
tbe room. The number of daily pa
pers might also be reduced.
Every business man in tho city
ought to be a member of tbe board of
trade. Properly organized, with regu-
lnr meetings, it can be made of incal
culable benefit to our business men,
nnd in emergencies which are likely,
nt any time, to nrise, it will prove an
imperative necessity. We are a grow
ing city—our business is growing
even more rapidly than our popula
tion. To continue this growth satis
factorily we must adopt tho methods
found,Successful elsewhere.

from Buvaunah. It is brought with,
