THE GOOD SAMARITAN AND
THE WEEKEND OUTING.
|
i hat the days of the good Saniari
iun were confined to Biblical times is
denied by one of the popul.fr matrons
if the city. Listen and see if you don’t
agree that she is correct in her way
of thinking.
Saturday morning dawned and the
Hip to a nearby state for the week
end was prepared for, but, alas, all
the trains were late to Atlanta. So the
couple and their young son started in
a car and that, too, gave out ere many
miles had been passed. While waiting
for repairs that seemed forever on the
| way, the good Samaritan came along
unknown but not as of old. The dif
'ft renee this time lay in the manner of
| locomotion, the latter having a big
'-’"ay roadster with a seating capacity
about five when properly arranged.
After much insistence on the part
oi tlie good Samaritan, the baggage
and occupants were transferred from
i H e broken down car to the roadster
hi and all securely iracked in, and the de
; layecF trip to the train began.
, it took breath, and lots of it to spare
I to hang on around the curves so the
i young matron said, and the husband
I lost Ins bat, but neither had the spare
hieath or the grace to mention so
small a matter until Marietta wis
reached.
Anyway the trip wa-: taken and the
party reached Atlanta, with only a
lew odds and ends missing with finu
to buy anew hat and ten minutes to
catch the tram, and, after all, the out
in.g was a great success because some
t ine.s, there are good Samaritans who
ride in cars.
