progressing nicely.

Prayer meeting will be at the Smith
ville church next Sunday night. We
hope a large crowd will be present.
Miss Annie Huffstetler, of this place,
spent Sunday in Allatoona.

ing at Cross Roads Sunday.
Mr. Marion Brandon visited friends
in Glenview Saturday.
Miss Emelou Gilstrap has returned
from Cartersville where she has been
spending some time with her brother,

Miss Gertrude Thacker visited her
uncle near Adairsville Sunday.

Mrs. C. A. Edwards spent the latter
part of last week with relatives near
Grassdale.
Little Miss Ruby Worley returned
home Saturday after a week’s visit in
Fairmount as the guest of her grand
parents.

We are sorry to report the death of
Mrs. Claudie Step, the wife of Mr.
Henry Step. She leaves a husband and
five children and a large number of
relatives aud friends to mourn her.
death. She passed away last Wednes
day about 12 o’clock. She was loved
by all who knew her. Rev. Turner, of
Rockmart, conducted the funeral ser
vices Thursday afternoon at three
o’clock. She was buried at Taylors
ville cemetery. The funeral was at
tended by a large crowd of friends and
relatives. We extend our deepest sym
pathy to the bereaved family.
The little six weeks old infant cf
Mr. Henry Step died Saturday night
and was buried Sunday afternoon at
three o’clock at Taylorsville cemetery
by the side of its mother, who was
buried on Thursday.

this place with his parents, Mr. and

Eaves, spent Saturday and Sunday at
this place with the latter’s father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Jolly.
Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Wade spent Sun
day with the latter’s parents near Eu
harlee.
Mr. W. A. Hubbard was in Kingston
Thursday afternoon on business.
Mrs. Hannah Abernathy, of Oak
Grove, spent Sunday afternoon at this
place with her sister, Mrs. W. E. Hub
bard.
Mr. Walter Jones, of Ford, spent
Sunday at this place with Mr. S. J.
Dover.
Messrs. Jim Drummonds and R. F.
Jolly, Jr., were in Kingston Saturday.
Mr. Lee Harper and family, of
Kingston, passed through Macedonia
Sunday in their car.
A large crowd from this place at
tended meeting at Zion Hill Sunday
and report a nice time.
Mr. Charlie Wade, of Blackville.
spent Sunday at this place with his
cousin, Mr. Jack Wade.
Rev. Strozier, of Kingston, filled his
regular appointment at Oak Grove
Saturday and Sunday. A large crowd
was out both days and report good
sermons.
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Carver, of River
side, spent Sunday evening at this
place with homefolks.
Wheat and oats are going to be fine
this year around here and there is a
lot of both.
A few' from around here attended
the Shriners meeting in Atlanta last
week.
Mr. J. C. Boss was in Kingston
Thursday on business.
There will be an all day singing at
the church at this place the second
Sunday in June. Everybody is cordially
invited to come and bring a full bask
et. The names of the singers will be
in next week’s paper.
