[of Kingston, May 21st with 1 Wo

The sessions were held in the Meth
odist church. The chancel was very
artistic in its pots of ferns, and vases
j of red roses—carrying out the club's
| colors, red and green.
Mrs. Claude Irby, president of the
Seventh District Federation, presided
with ease and dignity. Seated with her
in the chancel were. Miss Ba_ Is. ,
president of Kingston History Club,
and Mrs. J. Lindsay Johnson, of Rome.
Mrs. Veal, of Rome, was electel
secretary-of the meeting.
The morning session was opened
by an invocation by Mrs. A. O. Gran
ger.
In a few graceful words Miss Bay
iess welcomed the delegates and 0
response full of inspiration was made
by Mrs. Van Hoose, of Rome Woman’s
Club.
A musical number by some of the
Music Lovers Club, of Rome, was en
thusiastically received.
The minutes of last year’s meeting
The people of Cartersviile and Bartow county have never seen

prepared with our entire stock of merchandise on account of the
great crowd In Atlanta attending the great Shriuers Festival,
our goods wvr;- delayed in transportation from the east, there

By these yearly reports, the growth

gauged, and there was much ground
for encouragement in the different

Rockmart, not yet a year old, is a
wonderfully “forward child” and has
asked for the meeting next year. This
club has the true club spirit, and al
ready a great awakening along all
civic lines has taken place in the na
tive town of this club.
Caihoun, “the old reliable,” came up
cf course with a splendid report.
Acworth and Adairsville, have made
wonderful progress.
Dakon was splendidly represented.
Rome, with her newly re-organized
club, sent Mrs. Van Hoose and Mrs
Lindsay Johnson, both “live wires,”

The Misses Lonn gave a practical
demonstration of their work in the
music furnished.
Pine Grove and Cassville had fine
reports. The hostess club had the
' hole town of Kingston to illustrate
their work for the year, and what we
did not see in the town we could read
about in the club special of the Kings
ton Times, a copy of which w r as pre
sented every visitor.
At noon a bountiful dinner was serv
ed in the Sunday school room of the
church. Covers were laid for one hun
dred, and the long tables were cover
ed with everything that was ever heard
f in “the eating line.”
In the afternoon the reports of Dis
trict chairmen were well given, follow
ed by a talk on Federation work by
Mrs. Lindsay Johnson; also one on
the Cass Station Model school by
Mrs. Granger.
Dr. Frances Bradley, of Atlanta,
brought a wonderful message on
health. She herself is a living expon
ent of the great gospel. She preaches

One of the strong points in her talk
was that of training the young girls
in all that pertains to house-keeping
and home making, not in the non-es
sentials, but in the elementals. At the
conclusion of her talk the meeting was
thrown open for discussion and many
questions were asked Dr. Bradley con
cerning her work.
Miss Bayless read an interesting
communication from Miss Baxter,
state chairman on peace and arbitra
tion.
At five o'clock the meeting adjourn
ed with singing the Federation hymn,
“Blest be the Tie.”
Taken all in all this was one of the
lest meetings in the history of the

FIDDLING JOHN CARSON, of Blue Ridge, Cham
pion Fiddler of the State of Georgia, will be there with
his “John Henry, the Steel Driving Man.”
JOHN MARTIN, the “Wonder Fiddler” of Paulding,
Joe Brown and Watt Camp from Dallis, premium win
ners at every convention, will be present. When it comes
to fiddling, they’ve got the goods.
R. S. SILVEY and JOHN CARLTON, of Rome, master
performers on the violin, will bring back memories of
the “good old days.”
BIuN DAY, of Cartersville, will also defend the reputa
tion of Bartow.
OTHER FIDDLERS EQUALLY AS GOOD WILL BE
PRESENT.
If you want to hear some real “old time
fiddling,” don’t fail to be at Cartersville Sat
urday, May 30th.
The contest for the champion fiddler will
be held at the Grand Opera Fiouse in the af
ternoon at 3 o’clock, and contest for capital
premium in the evening at 8 o’clock.
