THE SINGING CONVENTION
HELD AT ATCO, GA.
The biggest, best looking, best be
haved crowd ever assembled at Atco
took ]>art in the two days’ singing con
vention held there May 5 and 6.
The people of Atco enjoyed having
this good crowd almost as much as
they did the singing, for it was an un
usually good natured and pleasant a;
semblage.
We didn't know that Bartow county
could produce so many gcod locking
girls and fine boys, and even the “old
folks” didn’t look old.
We wisih we cou'Vl have met every
one of them, but couldn’t, and didn’t
get to see even all of the delegates and
singers. We did see Profs. .T. M. Hen
son, Arthur Edwards, Delos R. Suit
and S. A. Gilreath, and the Gaines
sisters’ quartet, also the Cowart quar
tet, two brothers and two sisters.
Some quartets were made up of the
different local leaders, but unfortu
nately we did not meet them all, al
though we enjoyed their singing.
President C. A. Anthony and Secre
tary Garner were there, and many
other noted leaders of the county.
Atco wants them all back again and
requests all who can to come to our
annual singing which will be held here
Sunday, May 21st.
