ville, of Cartersville, Georgia, will sell
before the Court House door in said
county, within the legal hours for
holding Sheriff’s Sales, on the first
Tuesday in September, 1916, to the
highest bidder, for cash, the following
described shares of stock:
One hundred and thirteen and three
ninths (113 3-9) shares of the capital
stock of Chatsworth Land Company,
a corporation under the laws of the
State of Georgia, said shares of stock
being of the par value of SIOO.OO
each, and being evidenced by Certi
ficates Nos. 1, 2 and 3 of said Chats
worth Company, Certificates
Nos. I and 2 being for fifty shares
each, and Certificate No. 3, being for
13 3-9 shares, all of said certificates
having been issued to A. Strickland,
and by him endorsed in blank and
pledged to said Bank of Cartersville
to secure all indebtedness of said
Strickland to said Bank.

the property of A. Strickland by said
Bank of Cartersville under and by vir
tue of the authority vested in it as the
pledgee of said shares of stock by
Section 3530 of the Civil Code of
Georgia, and other Sections, and also
tinder and by virtue of the authority
given said Bank of Cartersville by
said A. Strickland in his pledge of said
shares of stock to said Bank, to satis
fy the indebtedness due by said
Strickland to said Bank of Carters
ville. The proceeds arising from the
sale of said stock will be applied first

1915, I, as Receiver, acting under
aforesaid judgment and decree, will

Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia,
on the first Tuesday in September,
1616, within the legal hours for hold
ing Sheriff’s sale, to the highest bid

All the kilns, machinery, (except
ing the pug mill awarded to J. C.
Steele & Sons on July 19th, 1916, bv

said Cartersville Brick Cos., said prop

up the plant of said Cartersville Brick

72 in the office of the Clerk of the

that certain 'lease from Mrs. Laura A.
Jones to said Cartersville Brick Com
pany, dated January 20th, 1912, for a
period of five years terminating on
January 20th, 1917, leasing to said
Cartersville Brick Company the right
to use and occupy the four acres of
land therein described adjacent to the
above described one acre of land, and
whereon is now located the kilns and
machinery of said Cartersville Brick
Company.
The above described personal prop
erty being articles difficult ami ex
pensive to transport the same will not
be carried and exix>sed at the Court
House door on the day of sale, but
the same is now located at the plant
of said Cartersville Brick Company,
where the same may be inspected,
and possession of aforesaid property
will be delivered to the purchaser at
such sale at the point where said
property is now located.
Also at the same time and place, the
following described property: One
hoisting engine, two tram cars, about
200 feet of cable, three guides for
cables, about 200 feet tram rail, and
228 feet of piping, said property also
composing a part of the plant and
equipment of said Cartersville Brick
Company, being now located at the
mine now operated by W. S. Peebles
and L. D. Munford, in Bartow County,
Georgia, about four miles from Car
tersville, Ga., just off the Cartersville
and Stilesboro public road. Said last
described property being articles dif
ficult and expensive to transport the
same will not be carried ami exposed
at the Court House door on the day of
the sale, but the same may be seen at
the point where now located, as afore
said, and possession will be delivered
to the purchaser at the point w'here
the same is now located.

PETITION FOR CHARTER.
GEORGIA, Bartow County.
To the Superior Court of Said County:
The petition of C. A. Bray, of Cin
cinnati, Ohio, W. Y. Davey, of Johnson
City, Tenn., and D. S. Leonard, of
Hiram, Ga., respectfully shows:
1.
That they desire for themselves,
their associates, and successors, to be
incorporated and made a body politic,
for a period of twenty years under the
name and style of
YEAGER MINING COMPANY.
2.
The principal office of said company
shall be in the City of Hiram, County
of Paulding and State of Georgia, but
petitioners desire the right to estab
lish branch offices within this state, or
elsewhere, whenever thev so desire.
3.
The object of said corporation is pe
cuniary gain to itself and share hold
ers. •
4.
The business to be carried on by
said corporation is mining, exploring,
preparing for market, selling, shipping,
milling, washing, grinding, refining
and manufacturing, Copper, Sulphur,
Manganese, Barytes, Iron, Beauxite,
Slate, Sericite, Gold, Silver, and any
ot all other ores, minerals, fossils,
sands and stone, and constructing such
works, tramways, railways, aerial
tramways, pipe lines, washers, mills,
pumps, etc., as may be necessary,
usual or convenient, to extract,
change, refine and. transport the out
put or product of the mines to the
railroad or spur tracks and success
fully carry on said plant, or plants,
and mine and market any or all of the
above mentioned ores or products, and
the right to erect houses and other
buildings, take and operate under
leases or lease any property held by
them, and the right to buy and sell
any and all kinds of merchandise.
5.
The capital stock of said corpora
tion shall be Five Thousand Dollars
i$5,000.00) with the privilege of in
treasing the same to the sum of
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00),
said stock to be divided into shares
of SI.OO each. Ten per cent of the
amount of Capital stock to be employ
ed by them lias been actually paid in.
Petitioners desire the right to have
the subscriptions to said capital stock
paid in money or property to be taken
at a fair valuation.
6.
Petitioners desire the right to sue
and be sued, to plead and be implead
ed, to have and use a common seal, to
make all necessary by-laws and regula
tions, and to do all things that may
be necessary for the successful carry
ing on of said business, including the
right to buy, hold, and sell or lease
real estate and personal property suit
able to the purposes of the corpora
tion, and to execute notes and bonds
as evidence of indebtedness incurred,
or which may be incurred, in the con
duct of the affairs of the corporation
and to secure the same by mortgage,
security deed, or other form of lien,
under existing laws.
7.
They desire for said corporation the
power and authority to apply for and
accept amendments to its charter of
either form or substance by a Vote of
a majority of its outstanding stock
at the time. They also ask authority
for said incorporation to wind up its
affairs, liquidate and discontinue its
business at any time it may determine
to do so by a vote of a majority of its
stock outstanding at the time.
8.
They desire for said incorporation
the right of renewal when and as pro
vided by the laws of Georgia, and that
it have all such other rights, powers,
privileges and immunities as are in
cident to like incorporations or per
missable under the laws of Georgia.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray to
be incorporated under the name and
style aforesaid with the powers, priv
ileges and immunities herein set forth,
and as are now, or may hereafter be,
allowed a corporation of similar char
acter under the laws of Georgia.

Congress from the Seventh Congres
sional District of Georgia, subject to
the Democratic Primary to be held
September 12. If I should be elected,
I promise my very best service to
every interest of my country and dis
trict.

choose your representative in congress
by primary election. It is proper that
you should have timely notice from
those offering for the place.
By your continued favor and good
will, I have been able to reach a posi

mittee assignments are given for ef
ficiency and experience in service. I
now hold the second place on the
most important commitee —that on
agriculture.

when congress will adjourn. While It
