M. Parrott and Willie McGee made a business trip to Palmetto on Tuesday last. Miss Lucy Thurmond is visiting relatives in Palmetto this week. C. C. Parrott, of Douglas coun ty, visited his father’s family here this week. j. W. Harrison lectured to the Sunday school at Lee’s Chapel last Sunday. J. H. Hall went up to Atlanta last Tuesday. W. E. E. Katie May, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Echols, had the misfor tune to get her arm broken last Saturday. Mrs. Oliver Smith, who has been sufferin'! with nervousness tor sev eral days, is reported a little hot ter. “Old Brother Christian” who has been paralyzed for several years had another stroke the other day, and is in a very critical con dition. Mrs. J. G. Brook, who has been confined to her bed for a good while with pneumonia, is on foot. Mr. Will Burks is back in our midst again and has gone to work in the mill. He is stopping with his aunt, Miss Bettie Cooper, ’till he can find an empty house, then he will move his family, who are still in Hogansville. Mr. John Cassel moved with his family to the country last week. The city is having our streets worked, tor which we are very thankful, for they were getting in very bad condition. Mb. and Mrs. David Hunt have moved into rooms just below the church. Mr. Henry Whatley is still suf fering with an abcess. Mrs. John Wyatt has gone to the country to spend some time with her aunt, Mrs. Mollie Smith. Our day school is in a flourish ing condition. We have nearly a hundred pupils in regular attend ance. Th.it speaks well for our noble teacher, Mrs. White. Mrs. Tom Crow was taken Sat urday night with a severe nervous spell, but is better. Mrs. Horace Florence has moved into rooms vacated by Mr. John Cassel. Mr. Charlie Spencer has moved his family to Sarger.t. Also, hie postoffice address. I wish to mail to every organization in the county enrollment sheets. I also request that all the district organizations in the county hold meetings in their districts on Saturday, April 1st, and fill out these enrollment sheets, and have them on hand at the county meeting on the first Tuesday in April, together with the money that belongs to the State and county organizations, which will be one-half of all monies collected by dis trict organizations.
