Neglected Colds Lead to Consumption. How Consumption Develops. \\ IIow Pretty Mias Powell Was Itc- ^ ' • stored to Health by Pe-ru-na. Miss Lillian Powell, Aurora, Ind., writes: ••Last spring I caught a severe cold from getting my feet wet and being out In the rain, and In a day I had a moat miserable cold, but I neglected It, thinking It would soon leave me. But It hung to me lor two week a, when I telt something must be done, as my condition was serious. • ‘I had heard so much about Peruna and In Its praise that I bought a bottle and began taking It regularly. I was gratified to find that In a week the cold and cough was broken up, and three weeks’ treatment completely re stored my usual good health. ’’—Lillian Powell. Nino cases of consumption out of ton occur in this way: A person catches cold. The cold Is not properly cured, and another cold is caught. Tills cold Is dilly-dallied with, either by no treatment whatever or some treat ment that Is ineffectual, and the cold continues. Then another cold is caught and a cough develops. Cough syrups are re sorted to, but they give only temporary relief. By and by the patient gets tired of taking medicines and cough syrups sad gives up In despair. The cold continues to develop and rtis cough grows worse. Then the doctor is called In, only to discover that the patient is in the first stages of consumption. 11 was Just in this way that Miss Powell, of Aurora, Ind., became sick. Nhe caught a cold, and not considering It serious, neglected It, thinking as many others do, that it would “wear off.” However, It clung to her tenaciously, and in two weeks she found her health in a serious condition. Fortunately, Peruna had been brought to her notice, and she took a course of this remedy before It was too late. In a week the cough and cold were broken, and a three weeks’ treatment completely restored her to health. This is what Peruna is doing all Mi* while. Not a day, and probably notan hour passes 111 which some one does not have a similar experience with Peruna. Cure the Slight Colds and Avoid Consumption. The first step toward consumption lo a cold. The next step is a failure to euro It promptly. The third step is the de velopment of catarrh, which gradually becomes ohronlo. The fourth step, tlio catarrh Iwgins to apread from the head to the throat, then to the bronchial tulies, and finally into the lungs. It U then consumption In the tlrst stage. At any time during the "progress of oa- tarrh, from (he first onset of the cold to Its final settlement In the lungs, Poruna can ho relied upon to stop the disease. If you have taken a cold, buy Poruna without delay. One bottle in the be ginning will do more good than a half dozen bottles after the catarrh has fastened lUdf on the lungs. Thousands of Testimonials. Wo have on file thousands of testi monials from people who have boon cured of oatarrli of the lungs by Peruna. Registration for the city primary and election is unusually heavy; about ono hundred more voters having registered titan registered for the city election held last year. Registration closed on the 20th, witli 54H names on the lists. All but eight of the voters registered are white. The approaching election lias created no excitement. In fact, it is about the most quiet campaign for mayor Newnan has ever wit nessed. The heavy registration, however, indicates that the vote cast will lie large and shows that; large majority of the voters are really interested in the outcome of the contest. I)r.
