ington. Mr. Shropshire was a
member of the cavalry guard of
honor which accompanied the re
mains from St. John’s Episcopal
church in the national capitol to
Washington, the old home of the
Lees upon the banks ot the Poto
mac.
Few men in the command were
more popular, and many of his old
comrades followed his remains to
