Kate Reed, one of the most re
spected colored women of Newnan,
died at her home in this city yes
terday morning. She was the wife
of “Uncle” Jim Reed, the restau
rant keeper, who is one of New •
nan’s liest known colored citizens.
She had many friends among the
liest white people of the city and
was always worthy of their confi
dence and friendship.
