cision,” an absorbing modern drama
with a powerful appeal for the spirit of
fair play to American labor.
Newnan friends of Dr. W. W. Fitts,
of Carrollton, will regret to learn of
his death, which occurred yesterday.
He was 85 years of age, and one of
the pioneers of hiB town and section.
Mrs. Ann Bradbury, one of Meri
wether’s oldest residents, died on Fri
day last at her home in Lutherville,
after a short illness—aged 80. She
leaves one son, Mr. J. A. Bradbury.
Mary Fuller will appear at The
Halcyon Monday in the first Blue Bird
photoplay, entitled “The Strength of
the Weak,” in placp of Sarah Bern
hardt, which wbb destroyed by Are.

downpour about the noon hour Tuesday.
The rain was accompanied by hail, but
as there was little vegetation to be
damaged, no material harm was done.

Rev. J. A. Sewell, late pastor of
Lovejoy Memorial church, has been ap
pointed chaplain of the Federal peniten
tiary in Atlanta, and will enter upon
his duties at once. The appointment
carries with it a salary of $1,800 per
annum.
Isaac Carrington, one of Newnan’s
oldest and most respected colored citi
zens, died Sunday night* after a long
illnesy. For many yesia he completed
a barber shop here, and had many
friends among tbe white citizens of the
community.
