Mr. and Mrs. Harold Upshnw enter
tained at a “watch party” Friday even
ing, to which fourteen couples were in
vited to meet their charming guest, Miss
Ida Wilkie, of Barnesville, Interesting
and unique gnmes were played, and just
as the clock pealed forth the hour of
midnight the “watch” concluded with
a grand llnnlo welcoming the New Year.
Dainty refreshments were served during
the evening.
Miss Elizabeth Parks entertained with
a spond-the-night party Friday night to
watch tlie old year out. Her guests in
cluded Miss Olivo Dent Mnnget and the
latter’s guests, Misses-Carrie Dent Rich
ards and Agnes Adams of Decatur, Miss

Mr. Meriwether is engaged in business.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hudson, of Ander
son, Ind., came Sunday for a week’s
visit to the former’s parents, Mr. and

You gave expecting no return, but you
did get a rich return. Well, that was
Christmas.
