The largest dance of the Season was

Mrs. John R. Cates entrained for her
young son, John, Saturday afternoon, in
celebration of his third .birthday. The
children enjoyed many ^games, after
which they wore invited idto the dining
room, where wafa a table beautifully
decorated in pink—the center decora
tion being a birthday cake surmounted
by three pink tapers. The souvenirs
wore red balloons and pink bagB of
candy. The guests invited were: Bill

B. McWilliams, of Romo, who is the
guest of her sister, Mrs. Willie H. Pow
ell. The rustio mnntol of the main room
was artistically decorated with sprayB of
clematis, intermingled with purplo bios-
some. Red and yellow zinnias and goldon-
jlow were used effectively in wicker bus-
rets on pedestals and tables. After the
fcame. an elaborate salad course was
served. Those serving wore Misses
Frances Cole, Susan Cole, Zoo Fisher,
Louise Fisher, Virginia McBride nnd
Ruth McBride. Mrs. T. J. Fisher won
the prize. About forty guests wore
present.

day when friends and relatives gathered
at Union City to meet Mrs. Margarot L.
Barge, a most wonderful woman, now in
her 8flth* year, and exceptionally active
nnd alert for one of her years.
At noon a sumptuous dinner was
spread and Dr. A. A. Barge, of Newnan,
offered a tender invocation for the wel
fare and longevity of his beloved mother.
In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
Trenthnm, Mrs. Vivian Phelps, Mrs. Etta
Lambert nnd her three daughters, Mrs,
Ewing nnd others, colled.
Jho gathering was characterized by a
Bweet solemnity, tender intimacy and
loving respect for this dearly .beloved
.woman, who is growing older so grace
fully, so cheerfully, bo sweetly.
