The Opening Social.
A social was given at the home
of Mr, and Mrs. W, B. Dasher of
this place, last Friday evening
lor the youua-er( ?)young people
at which about twentyniive or
thirty of those, who have recent¬
ly begun leasung upon the un¬
sophisticated pleasuers ot a social
lile, were present. A brlRaut
programme bad been arrauged
for the occasion, and not one
could be censured lor a non per*
fortnance ot duty. It was really
a good-old.-fashioned cnildrn’s
game; lor no one who had watched
the sun rise on twenty-one new
year’s mornings was luvited to
participate iu the exercises, and
as every one was agreeably inclined
a pleasant time was the inevitable
result, At a respectable hour the
crowd adjourned, the only arnuse
mg feature ol tins part of the pro
graine being, that a few of the boys
Were compelled to lip-toe 111 order
to reacn the arm of their partners,
and the girls blushed a liitL
ofcourse, at the thought of looking

The occasion was so highly

at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken¬
drick’s, of near here.

Rail Road grade crosses the western

South along said land line (running so
as to exclude troin said new district, lot
of laud No. 218 in said 0th land district)
to the Berrien county line—to the Al
apaha river; thence, up said river to
the present dividing line between the
090th and 982nd Militia districts of said
county ; (the old Brisbane R.K. grade)
thence, in westerly direction along said
dividing line to stai ting point.
