We understand that Capt. E. E.
White in the course of his travels

modesty—he denied being the
Judge—saved him from being the
defendant in a fight. A certain
party had been fined by the Judge
and in return was anxious to find
the Judge.

Rock Spring.—All lovely around
old Rock Spring. But little w hisky
afloat during Christmas. Fighting
a thing of the past; upon the whole
we are all doing better than in times
past.
Candidates are plentiful.
The weather for the past vreei

night—two snows last week. But
little travel. The mail missed three
days out of last week, and I Lelieve 1
it is the cause of more grumbling,

Our school opened this morning
