Vandell Strickland, ten year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Y. Strickland,
of Mt. Carmel, left last Sunday, to
gether with a number of calf chib

warded Strickland on his record in
the calf club, and the Armour Pack
ing Co., defrays the expenses of the
trip. He will return Saturday.

he is critically ill at his home at
Waterville. He has been in tailing
health for some time but only re

The sudden death Wednesday
Nov. 231'd., at about l o’clock, of G.
It. Herndon, at his home just south
of LaFayette, came as a distinct,
shock to his family and friends. Ap
parently lie was in good health bill
immediately after eating dinner lie
became ilk and within a short time
passed away.
Surviving him are his wife, two
i|aughUU'4, six sons, one brother,
live sisters and a host of friends who
mourn lii.s death.
Funeral services were held from
the family residence last Thursday
afternoon, conducted by Rev. B. H.
Howard, Interment was in Ilia La-
Fayettc cemetery.-
The friends of the grief-stricken
family extend their heartfelt sym
pathy.

The Pullman being very crowded, lit

berth. It was a wonderful adventure
