| Commander G. W. Patterson, of the
! Ohickamauga Camp, U. C. V., has is
! sued a call for a meeting at the court
| house on Saturday. April 26th., at ten
o’clock, for the purpose of electing del 7
'egates to the annual reunion and for
other purposes. The Commander urges
I all old Confederate soldiers and mem
bers of the camp to make a special ef
fort to attend this meeting.
Next Saturday night, April 12, be
ginning about 7 o’clock, the ladies of
the Rock Spring Methodist church
will give a pie supper on the lawn in
front otf J. H. Shield’s home. The pro
ceeds will be used for the benefit of
the church. Everyone invited. There
will be other things to eat besides
pie. We hope to make this a pleasant
social gathering as well as a financial

Monday afternoon in compliment to
Mrs. Miller, who is the guest of her
sister, Mins. S. F. Evans.

Miss Allie G. Carson was hostess
recently ft a beautifully appointed
i Bridge patty at the home of Mrs. R.
A. Wardlaw on Culberson Ave. Tall
vases and baskets filled with spring
blossoms were artistically arranged
throughout the reception rooms where
the game was played.
The color scheme of black and white
was effectively carried out in the
Japanese tailey cards and plate fav
ors and in the beautiful sprays of nar
ciss'as tied with black ribbon placed
on each plate.
The prize for top score, a set of
ivory table numbers and score pads,
also in black and white, went to Mrs.
W. E. McKown, while Mrs. Miller, of
Oklahoma, was presented with a beau
tiful box of candy.
At the conclusion of the game a
tempting salad course was served by
the hostess, assisted by Mrs. R. A.
Wardlaw.

A short business session was held,
the president, Mrs.. Holleman presid
ing. Several important things were
brought up, among them, the Stone
Mountain Memorial Fund, the Chap
ter voting to pay $25 at once on this
fund, thus making SIOO paid by the
Ch : ckamauga Chapter. This Chapter
ranks among the first to sponsor
this great unde’."taking, having taken
up this grand work five years ago.
Mrs. Miller ,of Lawton, Okla. Mrs.
R. V Thurman, Mrs. Hanson, and Mrs
R. C. Wilson were invited guests.
After the meeting a delicious salad
course with iced tea was daintily

There will be a social gathering in
the lawn of JH. Shields near the
Rock Spring stores next Saturday
night, April 12th at 7 o’clock at which

Church will sell sandwiches, pie, cake
and coffee. The proceeds to go for the
benefit of the church. We wish both
old and young would oome so that it
