County Campaign Committee has
been completed.

Prospects Committee. Mr. Lee

man of the Public Education
Committee, and Mr. J, D. Holli
man of Mclntyre, Chairman of
Advanced Gifts Committee
Mr. Council stated that the
Campaign to raise funds for the
work of the Central Georgia
Council would be conducted dur
ing the week of October 21-

ate, lying and being in the Third Land
District and the 330th G.M. District of
Wilkinson County, Georgia, containing
92.192 acres, more or less, and being
bounded as follows; Northwest by lands
of B- O. Bates; Southwest by lands of
L. A, Dixon; Southeast by the public
road leading from Toomsboro to Steph
ensville; Northeast by the public mad
leading from Toomsboro to Stephens,
ville.
Also all that tract or parcel of land
situate, lying and being in the Third
Land District and the 330th G. M. Dis
trict of 'Wilkinson County, Georgia,
containing 5.01 G acres, more or less,
and being bounded as follows; North
east by the Toomsboro - Stephensville
public road; Southeast by the lands of
the John A. Dixon estate; Northwest
and Southwest by the lands of Bartley
Freeman.
Also, all that tract or parcel of land
situate, lying and being in the Third

which deed was canceled by order of
theSuperiorCourt of Wilkinson County

Said three parcels of land being more
particularly shown and delineated on a
plat of same made by B. B. Asbell,
County Surveyor, which plat is of re
cord in the office of the Clerk of the
Superior Court of Wilkinson County,
Georgia, in Book of Plats no. 2 page
36, and on said pf£t the lands are des
ignated as the lands of Mrs. S. M. Dix
on.
Said lands will be sold under and by
virtue of an order of R. Earl Camp,
Judge of the Superior Court of Dublin
circuit, presiding in the place of Geo.
S. Carpenter, who was disqualified, in
the matter of the partition proceedings
brought by J. S. Dixon et. al., in the
Superior Court of Wilkinson County,

Mail Christmas
Parcels Early

extreme forward areas should
be mailed not later than October
15, to afford probability of deli
very before Christmas Day it
was announbed by the Sixth Na
val District Public Information
Office. Parcels for personnel
known to be in an area permitt
ing subsequent mailing may be
mailed at appropriate dates se
lected by the sender.
It is important that parcels for
overseas be packed in exception
ally strong containers, that the
senders follow the postal regula
tions which prohibit mailing per
ishables overseas, that?the full
name, serial number, and com
plete address of the recipient be
used, and that all packages con
taining valuables be insured.
It should be noted that poor
packing often results not only in
the loss of one package, but. also
in damage to other parcels or ob
literation of their addresses.
. Campaign On To
Prevent Fires
The State Department of Forestry
begins, this week, the most intensive
forest fire prevention drive in the his
tory of Georgia. The campaign, back
ed by the powerful Georgia Forestry
Development Council, will utilize the
newspapers, principally, in spreading
the doctrine of the value of “Fire-
Free Forests.”
State Forester J. M. Tinker, com
menting on the campaign at its in
ception, pointed out that this year, as
a coincidence, just happened to be
One of the best pine seed years in a
decade,

Back In Uniform
Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 4. Former
members es the Women, s Army
Corps have an opportunity te get
back into uniform for duty in the
Caribbean area, Headquarters, Seven
th Army announced today.
To qualify they must be experien
ced in secretarial work, including
taking shorthand and typings-(M OS
213 in Army terminology).To success
ful applicants for re-enlistment, will
go assignment to the Caribbean De
fense Command. Applications will be
received up to October 20 at any
Army lecruiting station.
