LOVICK P. LINGO
Funeral services for Lovick P.
Lingo, of 2533 Vineville Avenue,
who died in a Macon Hospital
Saturday following a brief illness
were held in the chapel of Hart's
Mortuary at 4 p m. Sunday.

ciated and burial was in River
side Cemetery.
Mr Lingo was born in Wilkin
son County, the son of Joseph
Lingo and Mrs- Ophelia Brannan
Lingo. He had Jived in Macon 28
years,
He was a former officer of the
32nd Division and was wounded
twice in Aorld War 1. He was
cited by American, Belgium and
French governments for valor in
action.
A graduate of Georgia Military
College, he was a member of the
Vineville Methodist Church, was
a member of Marshall A W eir
Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd.
degree Scottish Rite officer; also
a member of the American Le
gion, Veterans of Foreign Wars
and Disabled American Veterans.
Air. Lingo was treasurer of the
GeorgeS, Jones bible Class.
For the last twenty years he
had been an auditor for Birdsey
Flour Mill.
Surviving are his wife, the for
mer Katherine Wright of Macon,
a son, Lovick P. Lingo Jr., of

Lovick’s passing was quite a
shock to his many friends here.
He and Miss Katherine visited
Gladys and Lum Dixon not long
ago. Miss Lucile, (Mrs. David
Miller) stoppeb by Irwintcn Tues
day morning to see old friends.
She and her son were on their
way home to Orlando.

The Docember meeting of the
Rose Garden ( lub was held last
Tuesday evening at the home of
Mrs. Ralph Culpepper Sr with
Mrs Marvin Hall as co-hostess
The living ahe dining rooms
were beautifully decorated with
Christmas arrangements copied
from current magazines. Mrs. V •
L Council let us in on the secrets
of how they were made.
The meeting opened with a de
votional Mrs Culpepper read a
poem: * Peace On Earth;*’ there
was a song, the scripture read
ing by Mrs A C Todd and “The
Christmas Story” given by Mrs
J. H Skelton.
During the business session
which followed officers for the
new year were elected. Plans
were discussed for a lighted
Christmas tiee at the church.
During the social hour deli
cious refreshments were served.
On Thursday evening Mrs.
Culqepper’s home was again the
scene of another lovely Chii-t
--nias party when she entertained
the Women’s Society of Christian
