New Officers of
Pembroke WSCS
Are Announced
New officers of the Woman’s
Society of Christian Service of the
Pembroke Methodist Church who
assumed their posts recently have
been announced by the organiza
tion.
They are as follows: Mrs. A. I.
Rhoden, president; Mrs. Helen
Graham, vice president; Miss
Blanche Lanier, recording secre
tary df Christian social relations;
Mrs. C. L. Purvis, secretary of
literature and publications and sec
retary cf local church activities;
Mrs. H. D. Griner, secretary of
missionary education; Mrs. A. V.
Anderson, secretary of promotion;
Mrs. Harry Owens, secretary of
children’s work: Mrs. Cooper De-
Loach. secretary of spiritual life;
Mrs. Rex Smith, secretary of stu
dent work; and Mrs. J. Dixie Harn,
secretary of youth work.
Also holding office are Mrs. El
ton Butler, chairman of the flower
committee: Mis. W. R. Deal, chair
man of the Mary Carter Circle;
and Mrs. J T. Shaw, chairman of
the Sallie Purvis Circle.

July 22 Is First
Anniversary of
Blitchton Church
On Sunday, July 22, the Biltch
ton Baptist Church will observe its j
: first anniversary with a 'special ,
all-day rally, according to the Rev |;
M.nry Taylor, pastor.
The ehurch was organised on ■
July 16, 1961. and has experienced j!
a great growth in its one year as i,
a full time institution. All of the I
youth organizations are sponsored |:
and a fuß program of service is h
: carried out.
Dinner will be served at one j ■
i o’clock after the morning service, j!
Afterwards there will be song serv- I
ice at which choirs from several
.churches will be on hand to pre- j
sent special music.

Effingham County, former pastor
of Olive Branch Baptist Church,
will give the history of the organi
zation as a mission, and will also :
tell something of the growth of
the church.

Presumed to Be
In Okinawa

uated on June 27. from the Field

Pendleton, California.
The school for Navy corpsmen

lieal and dental personnel for duty
